Alliance Names Sean Murdock As New Executive Director
"This transition has been a year in the planning. We could think of no better and more experienced person than Sean to assume this role, as he has been a leader in the nanotechnology community in the Midwest and nationally," said Mark Modzelewski. "Sean's background at AtomWorks as an entrepreneur and at McKinsey will provide the Alliance with the right person and the right skill sets to drive the further development of the industry."
"I'm excited to join the Alliance, as Mark and co-founder Nathan Tinker have done an remarkable job in catalyzing the industry, establishing policy leadership, and providing a forum for those commercializing nanotechnology," said Sean Murdock. "Going forward, we will deliver even greater value to current and future Alliance members as nanotechnology becomes a business reality in a wide range of industries."
The transition will occur over the course of the summer of 2004 to ensure continuity and ongoing expansion of Alliance programs and services. The Advisory Board and other staff, including event staff, will remain unchanged and continue operations as usual.
Mark will continue to focus on public policy issues and guide the Alliance's efforts in Washington, DC.
